The way to pick my career

Hi everyone, I hope you are fine. Today I'm going to tell you why I picked Social Work as my career and other stuff related to that.

I picked this career because I always wanted to help people, but, in my perspective, it goes far beyond that. Social Work allows you to be related with different types of audiences and their realities. It's an instance that allows a pretty tight relationship between the person and the social worker, in which the social worker can solve the problems that people could have, giving them “tools” to get independent.

Since I was little I went through different phases in the path of choosing my career, between my options I was considering: Law School, Psychology, make-up artist, stylist, secretary and another ones that I can't remember right now, but the last option I was considering was become a PDI, but at the end I discarded it because I wanted to be in the crime laboratory, but I thought about it and I was not seeing myself studying a science career.

When I had to apply to University, I was sure of Social Work, and that's why I applied for this option, but in different Universities. Finally, I decided to apply to this career because I investigated more about it and I thought immediately that this was what I really wanted, because you can work in different areas. I would like to work in a jail or in a clinic.

Finally, I would like to tell you how my university experience has been until now, the first week was so exciting, I woke up at 6 AM to work out before classes and be able to stay focused on my daily housework. Then we had the first rest week, and I lost all the motivation to wake up early. It was hard at the beginning. For a moment, I thought that I could not achieve it.  With the time, I got used to it and I found friends which we help us mutually, that's nice.
